Often, emerging teeth take up more space than the jaw can support, so teeth come in tilted, twisted or not at all. About 75 to 80 percent of all wisdom teeth are impacted, but other teeth can become impacted too.
If impacted teeth become painful or threaten the health of other teeth, removal may be the best option. In addition to any X-rays your dentist sends us, we perform our own imaging, review your medical history and prepare you fully for the procedure.
Anesthesia built around your comfort
Depending on the severity of the impacted tooth and your comfort level, we can provide local anesthesia, sedation or general anesthesia. Dr. Attia discusses all of this before scheduling so you know exactly what to expect, and you can have a friend or family member drive you home and help with aftercare.
Signs you may have an impacted tooth:
- A swollen, red area on your gums
